Who is behind Evan Kristine?

An everyday dresser, a chef and a homebody who recharges outside.

Why it matters here

Every post starts with one question: what would I actually wear on a normal day? Not a styled shoot, but outfits you can repeat for errands, work, dinner and travel.

A trained fine dining chef with more than 15 years in professional kitchens.

Where cooking went

In spring 2025 I retired from the kitchen to focus fully on my business degree. Cooking is still one of my greatest joys, but my recipes live on my food blog, so this space is for style and everyday life.

Self-care, my way

Hiking and camping in the Nordic wilderness is how I recharge. That’s why there’s a self-care corner here too: Sunday resets, slow routines and calmer weeks.

How it started

From travel blogger to everyday closet.

I’ve been blogging for over a decade. The topics changed, the instinct didn’t: take simple things and make them feel like you.

  1. Over a decade ago

    A travel blog

I started as a travel blogger and spent years on the move, chasing trips around the world.

  2. 2015

    Kerala, India

Kerala Tourism invited me to tour Kerala, around the time my travel blog was at its peak.

  3. Then

    A homebody at heart

I switched to food blogging. Food wasn’t just a topic: I’m a trained fine dining chef with more than 15 years in professional kitchens.

  4. Summer 2024

    We tied the knot

Every detail was DIY’d, because nothing feels more meaningful than making something completely your own.

  5. Spring 2025

    Out of the kitchen

I retired from the kitchen to focus fully on my business degree.

  6. Today

    Style and everyday life

Casual outfit formulas and simple self-care, with new ideas on Pinterest every day.

How the outfits are made

One formula. Four checks.

Most of my outfits follow the same simple formula. Before an idea makes it into a post, it has to pass four checks.

  • One easy base
  • One useful layer
  • One shoe that finishes the look

Can you repeat it?

A piece earns its spot when it works in at least three outfits you already own.

Does it survive real weather?

Nordic winters taught me to plan around the coldest part of the day and layer from there.

Is it realistic on a budget?

Affordable basics from stores like Amazon, Target, Old Navy and H&M, with a few investment pieces where quality really shows.

Can you move in it?

Shoes you can walk in, hems that work with your actual footwear and fabrics that don’t fight you all day.

Some posts include product picks with affiliate links, including Amazon links. If you buy through them, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. The outfit ideas come first. Read the full disclosure.

Off the blog

Life outside the closet.

Outside of blogging and studying, I read, make art and start more DIY projects than I finish.
